The digital supply chain collaboration

Greetings I'm Suriya kumar M, This blog is about how companies adapt to digital supply chain processes and how they are achieving it.

Technology has grown tremendously that its presence is inevitable to bring a digitalization of the supply chain. This technology enhancement puts innovation first to mordernize the supply chain helping corporates to satisfy customer demands and rise ahead of its competitors inspite of the pandemic. Many companies like Accenture, BCG, Pwc, Delloite etc., have apdoted digital procurement, digital supply chain and digital supplier management strategy to add to their lean and agile approach.

BCG brings their digital supply chain transformation by
  • Understanding where the value is in operations - insights and informed  decision, automated process and collaboration
  • Right technology to the right problem- AI algorithm models to predict, block chain for data handling, ML to train model and predictive analytics
  • Right enablers in place- systems technology and people management are essential
  • Clear and quick vision
Delloite states their agile approach as
  • Start small- to decide one or two problems and pioritize based on impact of speed and development
  • Act fast - validate the results and the market to build momentum
  • Think big- ambition to improve and continuous innovation
Not to forget that Digital transformation has changed the expectations of 3PLs with high levels of order visiblity, fast delivery and transparent invoicing. 3 PLs moving from a descriptive analysis to predictive and cognitive analysis with technology to provide real time end to end supply chain visibility by IoT and big data.

Hence this transformation to a digital supply chain is a collaboration of both humans and machine technologies working together to balance and rebalance the change this pandemic is causing to the process.
