Robotics in Logistics

Hello everyone, I am Peeyush Pareek, pursuing my MBA second year from Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore. In this blog I am going to share Some gyaan on " Robotics in logistics ".

The Logistics industry is the important part our supply chain, our lifestyle too!!! So, it is complex and has to become modern. The some of these processes are ordering, picking, packing, delivery, inventory and routing. Everything has become modern and most of them has become automated with robotics and AI. Let's see what is Robotic Logistics,

So, robotic logistics means the appliance of robotics to one or more of those processes in logistics. Some common robotic applications are robotic palletizing, robotic packaging, robotic picking commonly utilized in warehousing or the other logistics software solutions.
WE see that there has been a boom in robotic logistics, there are some factors that are driving this need for collaborative robots in logistics.

• The growth of e-commerce: When products are directly shipped to customers, there's a large form of different packing requirement, so every product needs a special care to be taken for packing right product to the specific order and delivering to the right person. Move them fast and make profit too, so this is important that everything is done efficiently as well as correctly.
• The lack of accessible workforce: Shortage of skilled workers can affect logistics.
The logistics industry can have many tangible benefits of adopting robotic logistics. Less salaries to pay and more work can be done.
• By reducing human errors, robotic logistics can increase significant profits and also reduce warehouse costs.
• Robotics can yield workforce adaptability.
• Robotic logistics improve safety for workers as if we see in large ware houses the products can be kept at heights, so by doing these dangerous jobs by robots will save time as well as safety is insured.
• Human error will get reduced, this will surely show in fast delivery and right product to be delivered, so customer satisfaction will be higher.

Reduced human error and increased delivery speed by robotic automation will increase customer satisfaction.

So, it is good idea to employ more robots and we see this often is modern logistics that
Robots are being employed rather extensively. Thanks to the complexity of supply chain processes robots are increasingly used for dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks freeing your workers for more complex tasks. This suggests cost-effective, fast, and error-free operations.
